Linda Amici is an educator passionate about empowering future leaders to “be the change” the world needs. As a middle school instructional coach for the Westerville City School District and part-time faculty member for Otterbein University, she seeks to inspire those around her to embrace a growth mindset and take educational risks to innovate transformational change.
Linda's passion for changing the world has led her to opportunities that extend beyond the US. She has spearheaded projects to bring health and clean water to remote locations in Papua New Guinea, Indonesia, and the Amazon river basin in Peru. Her support for international exchange and her enthusiasm for learning about new cultures have energized her to work with diverse teams to solve global issues.
Linda graduated from Ohio State University with a Bachelor's degree in Education and earned a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction. She has been honored to present and collaborate with PBL Works, the National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE), and the National Center for Urban School Transformation.
In 2019, Linda's dedication and impact were recognized when she was selected as the Sanford Inspirational Award recipient by the National University System for the state of Ohio. Her school district also acknowledged her as a Great Educational Mentor, and she is currently supporting work on her third Martha Holden Jennings Foundation Deeper Learning Grant to awaken learner curiosity within her educational community. She has served as the National Teach Plus Fellow for Ohio and is a part of the Association for Middle-Level Education Schools of Distinction Evaluator team.
Linda is a mother to six children, two pups, and a guinea pig. In her free time, she enjoys reading, biking, kayaking, and keeping herself and her community strong and healthy by teaching group fitness classes. Connect with her on Twitter at @LindaAmici
